What you wonder about the Whartons
Newsletter for May and June 2000

Wonder why there was no May newsletter?
Kati left for the beach at the very beginning of June and didn't have time to type one. Yes, Kati types the newsletters - if John did, it would take a week to publish one!

Wonder if Kati passed the GMAT?
Yes, she did. Don't ask about the math score! Suffice to say the English and writing scores were much higher. But she did pass overall in spite of that!

Wonder if Kati got accepted to Wake Forest?
Yes, she did. She will start MBA classes in the fall. In July, she will be taking a math review class to prepare!

Wonder about our beach vacation?
It was "wonder"ful (*smile*), as usual. We had a lot of fun at Baits Motel (http://www.midgettrealty.com/book/house.html?Num=FQ080) with Kati's Mom and Dad and our friends the Thompsons (Randy, Diane, Sarah, and Rebecca). Some of the things we did were: buried Diane and Sarah in the sand (a story in and of itself), saw Molasses Creek (http://www.molassescreek.com), Noah Paley and others perform at a music and storytelling festival on Ocracoke, got caught in a downpour on the beach when we went to take a walk, completed a puzzle (except for the missing piece), sat in the hot tub every day...you get the idea. We also stayed for one day in "the big house" called LZ Hatteras with Kati's Mom and Dad and their marriage enrichment group. There were many enjoyable moments, and fun was had by all!

Wonder where else we wandered in May and June?
In May we took 2 trips (both for training classes for Kati): the first was to Columbia, SC. We saw the campus of USC, where John went to college. He said it had changed quite a bit! Then we went to Alpharetta, GA. Kati's Mom happened to be in Atlanta during the same week we were there, so we met for dinner one night.

Wonder how Kati's scrapbooks are coming?
Believe it or not, the wedding album is complete! WOW! Now she will start working on the next one (to document all the fun happenings you read about here).

Wonder if Kati has a metal mouth yet?
She does. Her braces were attached on June 1. They hurt for a while but are getting better. She can almost eat regular food without looking silly now! She doesn't look too much like metal mouth, though, since the braces are clear. She DOES look a little like a teenager!

Wonder what else interesting happened in May or June?
Twin grandchildren! John's son John and his wife Missy expanded their family by 2. Jordan and Jacob Wharton were born on May 31. Jordan was born at 11:12 AM and weighed 6 lb. Jacob was born at 11:26 AM and weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. Babies, Mom, Dad and big brother are all doing fine, although they are not getting much sleep! They send lots of pictures, and we love that!

Wonder when the next newsletter will be sent out?
Kati will try for the end of July, but no promises! :-)
